2010 Scholarship Program
The Roanoke Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that applications are now available for graduating students to apply for a $500 scholarship. The Chamber established the $500 scholarship for high school students who live in Jackson Township in Huntington County. The town of Roanoke is located in Jackson Township.
Applications may also be picked up at Bippus State Bank branches or downloaded here. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2010.
To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must:
- Be a high school Senior
- live in Jackson Township, Huntington County, Indiana
- plan a course of post-secondary study with a minor or major in business
The application must be completed in full and sent to the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Selection Committee. The applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2010. The application should be completed in the applicant's own handwriting with a pen.
The following should be attached to the application:
- A copy of the applicant's high school transcript indicating all grades earned in all high school courses, class ranking, and the overall grade point average
- Copies of SAT or ACT scores
- Two letters of reference from adults not related to the applicant
- A personal narrative from the applicant stating what their future plans are and why they should be considered for the scholarship (one page maximum length - may be typed).

2009 Scholarship Winners Selected

Zach Sovine, a senior at Huntington North, was awarded the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. He has lived in Jackson Township for the last 5 years. Sovine will be attending Anderson University in the fall where he intends to study Athletic Training & where he will be playing football. Sovine was also awarded the scholarship for his scholastic achievement. Sovine is an Academic Letter Winner & awarded All Acedemic- Conference in Football & Basketball, as well as a member of National Honor Society. |
